Digital Download Terms

1. Purchasing from or subscribing to 37 Raccoons implies that you have read and agreed to the terms below, and that you understand the additional licensing agreement(s).

2. Files sold by 37 Raccoons are designed for you to download once your payment clears. You may print these files at home or via a printing service or use them to create digital projects. No physical products will be provided to you.

3. Due to the instant delivery of digital files, NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS ARE ACCEPTED. There is no way to take back a digital file once you gain access to it.

4. Many files are provided as a .zip or compressed file for ease of download. The customer agrees that they are able to unzip the file after purchase so they may access their purchased files.

6. Copyright remains with 37 Raccoons, and is not transferred at the time of purchase. You may not claim any files, patterns, or images as your own.

7. Factors such as display settings on your device, printer settings, ink type and age, paper quality, and other elements may cause variations in colors and clarity between listing images and final product. These slight variations are considered acceptable.

8. 37 Raccoons cannot provide technical advice or assistance with printing issues, as all printer models are different. If you have issues printing, please locate the model of your printer and reach out to the manufacturer, or you may find helpful videos on YouTube.

SIZE AND FILE TYPE-

While each type of digital download is different, there are a few things that are pretty standard across all of the collections. I just wanted to quickly touch on some of that here, so you know what to expect before you get started!

  • Digital Seamless Patterns are sized at 12" x 12" or 3600 x 3600 pixels, so they can easily be used for larger projects, and the square shape allows you to match up the edges easily.

  • Other than seamless patterns, most of the products you'll find at 37 Raccoons are designed to easily print on US Letter Paper, or paper sized at 8.5" x 11". If you are outside of the USA, A4 paper is close to this size and works well.

  • Products come with .zip compressed files for easy download.

  • For products designed to be printed, I also include a file labeled as an Easy Print PDF that you can double click, choose the pages you wish to print, and be ready to go in no time!

  • In addition to the Easy Print PDF, you will receive high quality JPG/JPEG images designed to print either at home or through a printing service. These images are 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the US Letter 8.5" x 11" size for most products, and at 12" x 12" or 3600 x 3600 pixels for seamless patterns.

  • Files are NOT transparent. If you wish to use them as digital stickers or for other uses where transparency is needed, you will either have to freehand cut the image (like in Goodnotes 6 for digital planning) or add to a program to remove the background.

PRINTING-

I recommend opening your files with Adobe Acrobat PDF reader, which you can find for free here- https://get.adobe.com/reader/

Opening the Easy Print PDF file in this program will give the most consistent and best printing results.

I personally print as an image at Actual Size, and borderless. I choose one sided printing, and then flip the pages over to print an aged paper on the back if I am not gluing or taping the elements down. You can find free aged papers to use for this in the Freebies collection.

CUTTING-

All files are designed to be cut by hand. None of my products include any type of cut files.

Personal Use License

There's nothing I hate more than licensing terms that I don't understand when I'm just trying to create something, so I made a point to keep things as simple as possible, while still protecting both my work and yours.

This section will cover the basics of licensing- the terms that apply to absolutely anything you download from 37 Raccoons, either as a purchase from the store or as part of a subscription.

1. Files may only be used by the immediate family of the purchaser. If you download a file, only someone who regularly resides with you that you could list on your taxes as an equal household member or dependent may access that file for use.

2. You can download and store the files to any device registered solely to you, or as part of a family sharing plan (like Apple users who may share iCloud space).

3. Files may not be shared with others outside of your immediate family. You may not share, send, gift, or otherwise distribute any of the files.

4. You MAY print off the files and share the papers as craft supplies with small groups of acquaintances for small gatherings and craft nights. Think girls' night in or a crafting group you host with your neighbors. This does not include gatherings that are for the purpose of business- for example if you run a crafting business that hosts crafting sessions, you would need a commercial license.

5. You may create a final product that is different from the original files and gift or give away the final product. In the event that you give a digital file for someone else to print, the finished file must be flattened and not able to be easily extracted.

6. You can pretty much do anything you want for your own personal use, including sharing your creations on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and other social media sites. If you monetize your following, you must mention that files from 37 Raccoons were used unless you purchase a commercial license.

While this list isn't all inclusive, I specifically chose to make my licensing terms separate posts so that I can add and adjust easily as needed to further clarify and make it easy for you to enjoy your purchases without worry! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out for clarification!

Commercial Use License

The intent of the commercial use license is to protect my work, and also protect your finished products that are made using my work. The spirit of this agreement aims to ensure that several of the same products are not competing in the digital marketplace. Further, it prevents confusion among consumers who may believe files were stolen if they are too similar and listed by several sellers.

For the purpose of this agreement, commercial use includes the following:

A. giving away products or files, such as offering freebies to entice an audience or customers to follow or purchase from you or your business.

B. listing files or products on a marketplace, website, on social media, in print, or via another medium with the intent of giving the items to someone outside your immediate family.

C. using the files or products created from them as part of an event that you host or attend with the intent to represent and/or promote your business. An example would be showcasing products made with files from 37 Raccoons on a table at a market, even if you don't intend to sell that product.

D. any interaction where files are exchanged with another party for profit.

E. using the files, digitally or in their printed or finished form, to promote or create videos made for social media where you draw a regular income. As an example, creating crafting tutorials or a "plan with me" video that is monetized for your audience.

1. In order to use any files from 37 Raccoons for financial gain, whether you are a sole proprietor or a registered business, you must be actively subscribed to the Commercial Use membership tier at the time that you create and list your product for sale.

2. When creating physical products yourself (not Print on Demand), you may use any products or files as is without changing anything. You may create paper packs, printed ephemera, journaling papers, or anything you wish- as long as you do not provide the original digital files from to your customer.

3. Only pattern files may be used with Print on Demand products. No other products are eligible to be used with PoD sites at this time.

4. Only pattern files may be used to create digital products at this time. They may not be sold as patterns, but may be used as a clipping mask layer or background, or combined with other elements to create a new product.

5. If files are used in a template, such as links provided to Canva or Corjl where your end customer edits the final design, files must be flattened and locked to reasonably prevent your customer from extracting them. Only patterns are available for this use case at this time.

If you have questions, please feel free to comment or reach out and I will be happy to clarify!
